Welcome to City Ombudsman

Hello reader! Welcome to City Ombudsman. Thank you for participating in this experiment fusing an old Scandinavian concept with newer technology. This project has been in development for a year, in my mind and as a project grant with People’s Liberty. You are going to like being part of it.

What is it exactly? City Ombudsman investigates quality-of-life issues and questions involving Cincinnati-area government agencies and publishes the results here at cityombudsman.com. The website is dedicated to problem solving, highlighting innovative city solutions and training Cincinnatians to be City Ombudsmen. City Ombudsman visitors will discover interesting and useful information and new approaches to solving issues.

How will that be accomplished exactly? There are three planned feature categories, with corresponding submission buttons on the front page of this site. Hit the button and submit a question or story. Let me highlight you as the Friday Ombudsman. Please, start putting me to work.

Plans for meet-ups and training are in development. Mark your calendar for the third Thursday in August when City Ombudsman will take over the Findlay Market Biergarten. There may be surprise guests and musical partners.

I believe City Ombudsman is the first citywide independent digital ombudsman around. I have not found any others, in my research. My enthusiasm for this new concept may be the reason the mad philanthropists at People’s Liberty invested in my project. They invested in the start-up, both financially and with their fantastic expertise. Now I need investors with questions, ideas, and stories. In other words, readers and participants.

So, start your submission. Read and comment. If something is on your mind, I guarantee someone else is wondering the same thing. Please email me connect@cityombudsman.com, if you have any trouble with submissions.
