ABOUT

What is the City Ombudsman?

The City Ombudsman investigates Cincinnati quality-of-life issues. The City Ombudsman tackles issues that are important, but not critical -- mostly involving government agencies, including city, county and schools. Issues are chosen based on the interest to all readers. An inquiry can involve getting information, coaching and tips to solve your issue or even assistance with mediating an issue.

This blog is dedicated to solving your problems. No problem is too small, but some are too big. The City Ombudsman is a new concept using a digital platform to collect, solve issues and encourage all Cincinnatians to be an Ombudsman. Reader comments are encouraged to crowdsource solutions and highlight the knowledge of all Cincinnatians.

This blog is apolitical and takes the view than any problem can be investigated and solved in a nonpartisan way.

The City Ombudsman is a public employee, so the blog follows all political restrictions for State employees, which are also excellent guidelines for neutral digital Ombudsmen.

How to use the City Ombudsman?

To request help, please complete the online form to describe your issue. If your issue is selected for further investigation, the results will be published on the City Ombudsman blog. The process may include investigation and or coaching you to be your own Ombudsman.

Seeking help

Every Friday, we feature a reader’s description of a local problem or issue. The blog will feature your story of how you solved a local problem. Also, answer some of the questions, so we can get to know each other!
